The preseason is now well underway, and I have really enjoyed the commitment of the players and staff.
It is not always easy to be training so hard when the rest of the country is enjoying some free time and holidays but the players and staff’s commitment to excellence has been nothing short of fantastic.
It makes coming to practice so much fun when you are around highly driven people and who want not only individual success but also team success.
プレシーズンもすでに中盤です。選手とスタッフによるこれまでの献身的な取り組みのお陰で、私は心からこの期間を楽しむことができています。
この時期世間がお盆休みの中、ハードなトレーニングを続けることが正直辛いと思うこともあったかも知れません。
しかし、選手とスタッフの高みを目指す姿勢は、これ以上ないものでした。
非常に意欲的で、個人の成功のみならず、チームの成功を望むメンバーばかりに囲まれていると練習に行くのが楽しくなります。
What a great day we had at the open training session. It was such a joy to share what we are doing with so many loyal and awesome fans. The players really showed the type of basketball we are looking to play this year with some excellent transition play and shooting.
We were very disappointed in the way we shot the ball last season and the amount of points we scored.
We have been working very hard on these two areas to increase both areas. We just did not score enough points last season and it’s up to us to work hard to gain the confidence needed to be a great shooting team.
公開練習は素晴らしい1日になりました。
我々の取り組んできたことを、多くの熱烈で最高なファンの皆さんにお見せすることができ、幸せに感じました。
選手たちは、チームが今シーズン目指すバスケを最高のトランジションプレーやシュートなどで見せてくれました。
昨シーズンチームは、シュート成功率や得点の部分で満足の行く結果を出すことができませんでした。
この２つの分野を伸ばすために我々は、一生懸命取り組んできました。昨シーズン、十分にスコアすることができませんでした。
そしてこの部分を伸ばすのは、自分たちの取り組み次第であり、シュートに長けたチームになるのに必要な自信を高めていかなければなりません。
This week we see the arrival of our two imports which will be great to have more of our squad together and continue our preparations for the new season.
With the Early Cup starting in the first week of September we have a lot of work to do in a short period of time.
Fish will understand what we are trying to achieve after already having spent a year in the program but Gani will have a lot to learn quickly.
今週2人の外国籍選手が来日します。彼らの参加により、チームの結束力はこれから更に強さを増し、新たなシーズンの開幕に向けた準備が進んでいきます。
9月の第1週に始まるアーリーカップまで短い時間ですが、やることはたくさんあります。
フィッシュは一年間共にしてきただけにチームの目指すバスケをすぐに理解するでしょう。一方ガニは短期間で多くを学ばなければなりません。
I can’t wait to have everybody together in the next couple of weeks, so we can really start to build on what is potentially an incredible season. Last year I said that we wanted to score 100 points per game. That goal hasn’t changed, and we willcontinue to build this and become the highest scoring team in the BLeague.
Lakestars fans are going to love our style this season and I know it will put us inmany winning positions. We will be relentless in our defensive pressure andoffensive attack.
あと数週間で全員が揃うのが待ち遠しいです。
全員が揃ったときに、本当の意味でチームが始動し、そこからさらに素晴らしいシーズンにしていけるよう取り組んでいきます。
昨シーズン私は、平均100点を目標に掲げました。この目標に変わりはありません。
目標に対し継続して取り組み、Bリーグでもっとも得点力のあるチームにします。
レイクスファンの皆さんには、今シーズンのチームのスタイルを気に入ってもらえると思いますし、このスタイルにより、多くの試合において勝機を見出すことができると確信しています。
我々はディフェンスのプレッシャーとオフェンスのアタックにおいて、情け容赦のないプレーをしていきます。
On another note I am really amazed at the fireworks display. It’s such an incredible experience to be able to be part of the night and to see so many people come to the Shiga Prefecture to enjoy a spectacular display. It is the best fireworks display I have ever witnessed. For my wife and I it makes us feel like we are home and how much
we have settled into Shiga and love being part of the community.
余談ですが琵琶湖の花火大会に私は強く感銘を受けました。
あの花火大会の一部になれたこと、非常に多くの方が滋賀県に花火を楽しむために来ていたのを見られたことは、素晴らしい経験になりました。今まで見た中で最高の花火でした。
このような体験から妻と私は、滋賀を故郷のように感じることができています。
私たちがどれだけ滋賀に慣れ親しめているのかを象徴していますし、私たちは滋賀で生活し、地域社会の一員であることを愛しています。
