Being a Head Coach can be a lonely world at times and it is important that you have the support of great staff around you. I am very fortunate to have an amazing support staff that are incredible to work with.
ヘッドコーチというのは立場上孤独を感じることがあります。
それ故、優秀なスタッフによるサポートを得られる環境はヘッドコーチにとって重要です。
Starting with my two assistant coaches Nema and Shinya they offer me not only great support but also contribute to many ideas about what we should do to help the team play to its potential. I love to encourage the staff to think like a Head Coach so that they always offering good constructive ideas
アシスタントコーチの二人、根間と小川の話からしましょう。
彼らは素晴らしいサポートを提供してくれます。それだけではなく、どうしたらチームのもてる能力を最大限に生かしてプレーすることができるのか、たくさんのアイデアを出して貢献してくれています。
スタッフにはヘッドコーチになったつもりで考えるように促していて、そのこともあり、常に素晴らしい建設的なアイデアを提供してくれています。
A number of times last season they both came to me with some great ideas that we were able to use in games that helped our team perform well. It’s not always easy as an assistant coach to have the confidence to offer suggestions but I wouldn’t want it any other way. While I may have a very good knowledge of the game I don’t know everything and it’s good to get another prospective at times.
昨シーズン中何度も二人は素晴らしいアイデアをくれました。実際に試合で採用し、チームが上手くプレーすることにつながりました。
アシスタントコーチとして自信を持って意見を言うことは、容易なことではありませんが、それができなければいけません。
私はバスケに関する豊かな知識を持っていると自負しますが、全てを知り尽くしている訳ではありませんし、人の意見を聞いて良いことを取り入れたいと思っています。
Our other staff manager Fuko, Trainer Ishi and Strength & Conditioning coach Daichi do a fantastic job of making sure we are always prepared and ready. They all make my job so much more enjoyable and together we work to make everything as professional as we can to create an environment that allows the players to play to the best of their abilities and reach their potential. Everybody is hard working and willingly sacrifices for the good of the club and the team. All of the support staff are there for each other to help when it is needed. I know I love coming to work every day because of the support that all of the staff give me.
チームスタッフの上田マネージャー、石坂トレーナー、伊藤S&Cコーチもまた素晴らしい仕事をしてくれています。
それにより我々は臨機応変な対応できる準備が整っています。
彼らのおかげで私は、仕事をするのが一層楽しく思えますし、スタッフ全員で全ての面で可能な限りプロフェッショナルに取り組むことで、選手たちのポテンシャルを最大限に引き出す環境を作るようにしています。
皆がハードワーカーでクラブやチームのためなら自己犠牲を厭いません。
サポートスタッフは皆互いに寄り添い助け合っています。スタッフのサポートのお陰で私は毎日仕事に行くのが楽しいです。
We all know now about the unfortunate situation that occurred in Indonesia and I know how sorry all of the players involved are. I am sure they all wish they could have the time again so they could make a better decision. This is a great lesson for us all and from my point of view it is important for us to support Takuma through this and help him move forward. Takuma is one of the nicest young men I have ever coached who is highly driven to succeed. As a club I love how we are supporting him to move forward and to help him use this time to improve himself to come back bigger and better. It shows true character to accept responsibility for your wrong and to move forward and show the community that you will be a better person from what you have learnt and that you will not make the same mistake again. As a team we are really looking forward to getting Takuma back to training and helping become the player and the person he desires to be.
インドネシアで非常に残念なことがあったのは皆さんご存知の通りですが、この件に関わった全ての選手たちがどれだけ申し訳ない思いでいるか私には解ります。
過去に戻りやり直すことができればと彼らが願っているのは明白です。
これは我々にとって大きな教訓になりましたし、我々が佐藤の更生をサポートし、前に向かって進めるように助けることが大切だと私は思います。
佐藤は私がコーチしてきた選手の中でも人一倍心優しい若人であり、向上心の強い人間です。
クラブとして彼の更生をサポートしていけることに私は感謝します。
そして我々はこの機会に彼がより大きく、より優れた選手として戻ってこられるように助けていきたいと思います。
自らの過ちを認め、二度と同じ過ちは起こさぬよう教訓を学び、より成長した姿を見せると約束することで彼の本当の人間としての価値が問われます。
我々は佐藤が練習に戻り彼が目指す選手、人間になれるようにチームでサポートできる日を心待ちにしています。
The Early Cup is next week and I can’t wait to play some games so we can evaluate where we are and to continue our preparations for the season. Hope to see some of our fans there.
来週はアーリーカップです。
試合を通してチームがどこまでできるか、シーズン開幕への準備を続ける上で評価できることが楽しみです。
また、レイクスファンの皆さんにお会いできることも楽しみにしています。
